How to Erect the Ringlock Scaffolding Ledger in 3 Steps
Step 1: Place the Ringlock Ledger
- Select the Appropriate Ledger: Choose the correct size ringlock ledger based on your scaffold design. Typical sizes range from 0.73 meters to 3.07 meters.
- Position the Ledger: Insert the ledger head into the rosette on the vertical standard. Ensure that the ledger is at the desired height and is properly aligned.
Step 2: Secure the Wedge Pin
- Insert the Wedge Pin: Once the ledger is in place, insert the wedge pin through the hole in the ledger head and the rosette. This pin secures the ledger to the standard.
- Lock the Wedge Pin: Use a hammer to drive the wedge pin into the rosette. Ensure that the pin is fully inserted and locked to provide a secure connection
Step 3: Use the Right Hammer and Force
- Choose the Hammer: Use a hammer weighing approximately 1.5 to 2 pounds (0.7 to 0.9 kg) to secure the wedge pin. A heavier hammer can provide the necessary force without excessive effort.
- Apply Proper Force: Strike the wedge pin firmly but not excessively hard. The goal is to secure the pin without damaging the components. Ensure the connection is tight and stable before moving on to the next ledger
